Popular in Europe, floorball, also known as unihockey, is a sport played in a gymnasium, using lightweight hockey sticks with curved paddles and a hollow ball with holes. The goaltender doesn't have a stick, and the players don't wear mandatory protective equipment, as contact is forbidden. However, players may wear protective eyewear, but it is not officially required. Floorball is a fast and exciting game that encourages action from one end the playing surface to the other, thanks to its quick transitions and fluid action.
